An environmental engineer develops techniques to recover usable materials and reduce waste created during manufacture of a product, including energy. Environmental engineers also design air pollution control for power companies and may also be responsible for monitoring systems in a facility for compliance with environmental regulations. Environmental Engineer Skills:

• Prepare, review and update environmental investigation and recommendation reports.
• Design and supervise the development of systems processes or equipment for control, management, or remediation of water, air, or soil quality.
• Obtain, update, and maintain plans, permits, and standard operating procedures.
• Provide technical-level support for environmental remediation and litigation projects, including remediation system design and determination of regulatory applicability.
• Monitor progress of environmental improvement programs.

Environmental Engineer also need to:

• Communicate effectively verbally and through writing.
• Have integrity and follow the standards of the company and engineering profession.
• Understand the importance of hard work and have a positive attitude.
• Anticipate what needs to be done and take action.
• Work cooperatively with others.

Education/Experience Needed:
